The Architecture and deco is refreshingly un-american and simple. The food is gorgeous and so is the hostess. Drink lovers should head for the sexy upstairs room that’s open for parties and offers delectable cocktails.
Blackbird would like to invite you to our next Salon Series on May 9th with James Jankowiak. Chef Paul Kahan and James will join for an evening of art, cuisine, conversation, and collaborations.
James, a Chicago native who grew up in the Back of the Yards neighborhood, is a self-taught painter. He wanted to be an artist since he can remember, drawing and sketching. Known in the artist community as “Casper”; he grew into graffiti as an adolescence as a way to channel his energy in a positive way. He gained a reputation as a pioneer. Graffiti gave him great base to learn networking and the basics of being an artist, learning not to give up after hearing “no”.
James has been solely painting acrylic for over 10 years and has shown artwork at Roger Brown House, MCA for the artist, Lloyd Dobler and will be showing at CCT gallery this summer. James was also commissioned by Comiskey Park to paint a mural of 100 years of the White Soxs, and teaches to high school and elementary kids through Urban Gateways.
The dinner is $125.00 all-inclusive starting at 6:30 with a reception and 7pm for dinner. Please contact the restaurant for reservations or reply to this email.
