| About Jerk City - |
With staples such as patties, jerk chicken, ackee and saltfish, and brown stew fish, the menu here is just like that in a quality restaurant in downtown Kingston. Space is at a premium in the small and awkwardly shaped Wardour Street branch, but if you can cope with that, and with the abrupt service, you`ll be in for a culinary treat. Portion sizes are extremely generous, so choose carefully. Starters include jerk chicken wings, fried fish, saltfish dumplings and fried plantain. Jamaican patties turned out to be enough for a small meal. Mains of succulent braised oxtails with rice and peas, and tender peppered steak with ‘ground provisions` (root vegetables) were delicious, but heaped so high they were hard to finish.
