‘Banana leaf restaurants` (serving food on banana leaves) are currently very trendy all over Asia; it`s a pity this compact, no-frills caff has stopped following the practice. A new menu lists generic pan-Indian dishes alongside Sri Lankan specialities. Idlis and vadais are a good test of Sri Lankan and South Indian chefs` skills; they should be marshmallow-soft and featherlight, but rarely are.
