The quintessential English tradition of Afternoon Tea is largely credited to Anna, 7th Duchess of Bedford, in the early 1800's. The Duchess conceived the idea of a separate meal when she would grow hungry between an early lunch and a late dinner. This tradition still lives on today at London's top hotels.
What better place to experience the tradition than at the ideally situated Waldorf Hilton Hotel located in London's theaterland close to Covent Garden. Indulge in pastries, tea and coffee at the Homage Patisserie in a sumptuous setting of rich fabrics, period furniture and wood panelling. |
