| Very disappointed. by mr midew |
| Recommend Dish(es): escargot appetizer |
Very disappointed. After a good start with the escargot appetizer which was great I was presented with 3 lamb chops when I had ordered a rack of lamb!
Things got worse when the "manager" was arguing that the dish was lamb but couldn't seem to understand what a rack of lamb was. At 850 baht a rack of lab is good value as there are usually 5-7 cutlets but at 850 for 3 lamb chops it works out expensive.
I sent the dish back and then looked to order another main course. I was split between duck pie and duck orange (their discription). After opting for the duck pie because it offered puff pastry I was again disappointed. The puff pastry was thin and had little ‘puff’ and the pie had an orange sweet taste, I suspect it was duck and/or sauce from the duck orange dish.
For dessert my wife ordered fried ice cream flambé with Kalua. It arrived un-flambéed and had no taste of Kalua and the taste did not fit the description on the menu. The ‘manager’ made things even worse by telling us it had been flambéed out of our view. Part of the joy of flambéed food is watching it done before your table. I told him no Kalua had been used and that I could see it had not been flambéed.
So as I said very disappointed, a shame because deco and atmosphere, music, gardens etc very good.
