This little eatery offers steamboat authentic Chongqing style. You get a split pot with a rich chicken broth and herbal mala soup that is so spicy it will blow your chops off. You choose from a free flow of over 40 dipping items, including Chongqing specialities such as handmade wonton, dumplings, noodles and chewy sweet-potato noodles imported from China. Its unusual dipping sauce is made of crushed peanuts, sesame seed, coriander and salted vegetables, which you mix with a spoonful of the chicken broth. Be careful as it could get a bit addictive. So authentic is the food here that up to 80 per cent of customers are mainland Chinese. | | |
