| I have not been to Rama V for awhile untill recently. I think the last time I was there was about 3 years back (not very good experience then). I was just there last week again after a friend told me that Rama V has just changed management. I must say, they definitely did indeed! The minute you drive through the gates and into the compound, you will already notice the change about that place. First thing you will notice is the new signboard. This time its brightly lit and the the front has a stretch of lights that catches your attention immediately. As I walked into the reception area, I was greeted by the friendly staffs of Rama V. Instantly, I noticed the place is refurbished with a fresh coat of paint, the pond at the back is remodelled and place looks way better than before. As soon as my family and I were sat down on our table, we were greeted by the friendly new owner. He showed us their impressive new wine list which consisted of over 100 different wines from different regions and also recommended us to some of their dishes. My family loved the place as this was their first time at Rama V. The ambience has always been there and the food has always been consistantly good even before. The drastic difference I notice this time was their service. Much better although, they could be abit under staff when the place got almost full. Overall, it was fantastic! The other thing was, they now have a chef's table menu which needs to be pre-ordered by calling in. The reason I knew this was because I saw the waiters serving what looked like a lobster to one of the private dining rooms. I immediately asked the owner and he explained that they could come up with a chef's table menu if we called in advance. Very impressive!. Lastly, I must say, Rama V is frequented by alot of very important individuals. That night itself, we saw at least 6 to 7 prominent individuals. |
