Garage Land fills up most nights with an interesting assortment of people -- including a heavy dose of foreigners -- involved in a mixed bag of professions -- writers, musicians, promoters, label owners.
The interior is simple and functional. A long bar, which seats 12, runs down its length. A few low tables and chairs line the wall behind. And just inside the entrance is a small lounge area backed by a huge video screen, which mostly features vintage music clips of early Clash gigs. Posters and fliers for various bands are tacked on the wall here and there.
Filled with great music and lots of memories, the joint is a perfect hang-out for those who like a little Joe Strummer with their beers. Customers also bring their own music, which is willingly given a listen. | | |
