place was really nice. first when we arrived it felt like we were stting in spain. when ordering the service was really bad. to sit outside although is was nice and pleasant you can not read the menu in the dark we had to use our mobile phones. we then had flying glass from the candle on the table for which my husband burnt his fingers on and also had flying glass in our starters.
all we got was a sorry which was not good enough the damage could have been worse bu the flying glass. |

| One would not expect to find foie gras in India, nor much in the way of refined Mediterranean cuisine. But here we started with an amuse of bocconcini mozarella with flecks of tomato in a basil-infused virgin olive oil served in a ceramic soup spoon typically found in Chinese restaurants. Elegant quirkiness that fit the white linen setting in a garden of twinkling lights and crunchy white pebbles underfoot. Yes, we had the foie gras, and the pasta, and a bit of wine, and I'm sure dessert too. It was an evening of enchantment, our first night in country, and we had stumbled onto something straight out of LA. So impressed were we that we browbeat friends from Seattle into joining us for a repeat visit two weeks later. One of these, a foodie who spends at least a month each year in Paris, said it was the best restaurant he'd ever been to. I wouldn't go that far, but in my (very limited) experience, I would say it's the best in India. For my money, I'd prefer Olive Bar & Kitchen over a Parisian 3-star -- not for the food, sublime as it, but for the overall quality of the experience. |
